1. Qualification Objectives
The CILT International Diploma in Logistics and Transport is a freestanding qualification, designed to provide a sound foundation for a career within the transport and supply chain fields and should provide students with a complete set of management and operational skills. The modules offered as part of this qualification can also be offered as standalone units, giving both students and employers maximum flexibility. This route may specifically appeal to employers who wish to target a very specific topic area (e.g. Sourcing and Procurement, Warehousing etc.) for development as in-house courses, but with the option for employees to move forward at a later date to ‘top up’ to complete the Diploma course.
2. Who Should Attend
This qualification is most suited for middle and top managers who are responsible for:
setting activity plans to support logistics operations and/or
overall management of operational activities.
For entry to the CILT International Diploma, Candidates are expected to have prior knowledge of logistics and transport operations and an awareness of the integrated nature of supply chain activities, ideally through their own work experience and knowledge gained from studying the CILT International Certificate.
3. Course Content
To achieve the CILT International Diploma, all candidates must study and pass a total of 4 courses including one mandatory unit:
PD01 Management in Logistics and Transport.
In addition candidates must study and pass two elective unit examinations from a list of three namely:
PD02 Supply Chain Management
PD03 Transport Operations
PD04 Transport Planning
Candidates will also study at least one optional unit in one of the following subject areas:
PD05. Inventory
PD06. Movement of Goods
PD07. Movement of People
PD08 Production Planning
PD09 Retail Logistics
PD10 Sourcing and Procurement
PD11 Transport Planning Techniques
PD12 Transport and Society
PD13. Warehousing
PD14. International Business
PD15. Project Management
PD16. Supply Chain Flow Planning
PD17 Supply Chain Network Planning
